Lynnette “SNOOPIE” Velasquez

Being regarded as the “Go-to Girl” for many years for some of Urban music’s independent and corporate executives and creative talents alike, Lynnette Velasquez, “SNOOPIE” as she is affectionately known to most, is a seasoned entertainment industry executive with a diverse background.

Beginning her career as a young woman assisting in videos and independent production companies with a love for music and business, fate and ambition led her to develop a invaluable relationship with Mrs. Debbie Ingram- the wife and then manager of Grammy award winning recording artist James Ingram. Mrs. Ingram once gave Snoopie a precious piece of advice: LEARN THE PAPERWORK. And with that jewel, she did as suggested and went forth.

Her determination led her to work at MCA Records / Universal Records Soundtrack Department assisting successful worldwide releases such as THE JACKAL soundtrack to the film starring Richard Gere and Bruce Willis and EVE’S BAYOU soundtrack for the film starring Samuel Jackson. Here she built her project management skills, as well as forming beneficial alliances with Urban music professionals that have lasted over the years and adapted the working knowledge of corporate recording industry protocol that gave her a foundation for working in conjunction with major labels, growing her production and business affairs expertise.

With the help of a shrinking music industry and market, SNOOPIE courageously formed her own independent A&R/ Publishing Administration Company, MIDDLEGYRL ENTERTAINMENT SERVICES, where she serviced independent labels, producers and various music industry professionals with on-going administration, management and consulting services. As this new entrepreneur she acquired the skills and working experience necessary to becoming a resilient and persistent businesswoman in a world of acquisitions, mergers, breaches, bankruptcies, and declining record sales. Taking her love for music, business and empowering those less funded (indies) she has spearheaded the administrative strategic processes of many
record labels, publishers, songwriters, distributors and music producers indie and major.

Through these business dealings SNOOPIE began to expand her entrepreneurship from the business affairs aspect of the recording industry to the creative side where it was professional, proverbial ‘love at first sight’. By utilizing her vast network of clients, associates and mentors as well, she undertook the enormous task of Executive Production of musical product for labels and production companies. After partnering with Midwestern Hip-Hop producers in Akron, OH, SNOOPIE became a partner in RAWHOOD ENTERTAINMENT ENTERPRISES, where she was directly responsible for the Executive Production of all musical products. In 2002 & 2003 RAWHOOD ENTERTAINMENT produced and released MELLO MAYHEM – “RESPECT” and DEEP LEVEL – “After Anger & Past Hate” where the label saw limited financial profitability but gained great success within the hip-hop industry and community within the region. This success spawned the expansion and creation of RAWHOOD ENTERTAINMENT a company devoted to live-show promotions where they have promoted shows in local communities in the Midwestern & Ohio Valley region with some of Hip-Hop’s top acts. (Most recently, Cash Money/ Universal’s LIL WAYNE)
Overseeing numerous emerging labels and recording industry related companies has sharpened her executive, decision-making capabilities to the level she is at today launching RAW SUGA RECORDS with Los Angeles area Producer/ DJ, Michael “DJ SWEETS” Young, Sr. Her years of cutting edge experiences on both ends of the recording industry spectrum have developed her into an independently made entrepreneur that encompasses a corporate outlook with a full-proficiency of today’s digital media markets. Having prepared her for the booming marketplace of music industry globalization, digital distribution, ring tones and mobile entertainment, Ms. Lynnette “SNOOPIE” Velasquez is poised for breakout success.
